Ladies, twirl your batons

The European Championships 2009 for majorettes will be held in Kastela, Split from 2 to 4 October.

Several hundred majorettes, individuals and teams will compete and try to become European Champions at the competition.

Rockin’ Split

Split has a new stadium rock venue – Spaladium Arena – that will host Croatian rock singers and bands such as “Hladno pivo” (Cold Beer!), “Psihomodo Pop”, Damir Urban, Marijan Ban and “Fon Biskich”.

Croat swims 10 miles to prove he is still in shape.

Mladen Kuzmanic, 42, has swum 10 miles from Sutivan on Brac Island to Split just to prove to his 17-year-old son he is still in shape.

His son Nal told him he was too old for any serious sporting activity, so Mladen decided to prove that was not true.

3D disco in Croatia – Fresh from Trafalgar Square

“3D DISCO,” is a fun and unique audiovisual experience created by the British Novak Collective, will be presented for the first time in Croatia on 12 September.

The show will be held at the Split film festival that will take place from 12 to 19 September.

Fast boats. Superb setting.

The 2010 Powerboat Championships will open in Split, the first time the event has been held there.

The first of the seven P1 rounds will be timed to coincide with the Split Boat Show which is held every April and draws in around 50,000 visitors.
